DCF delegation was invited to visit Shanghai

Chinese moon festival 2021

It has long become a good tradition to celebrate the Chinese Moon Festival with our members and friends. Due to the pandemic, everything looked a little different this year. However, this did not prevent us from celebrating our Chinese Moon Festival and the beginning of autumn together again on October 8, 2021. This year the event took place in the restaurant Koufu in Leipzig - as always with an exquisite Chinese menu and convivial get-together and lively exchange. A total of 25 members and friends of the DCF attended the evening. All participants were very satisfied, which we are very happy about. Our special thanks go to Fanlei and Xiangru. They gave each participant a traditional Chinese good luck charm.

Chinese moon festival 2020

On October 10, 2020, we celebrated our traditional moon festival in Erfurt. The day before, the members could already meet for a cozy get-together at the Nüsslein Café. On the day of the moon festival there was the possibility to take part in a very interesting city tour and to visit the old synagogue. The moon festival took place as always with exquisite Chinese food, which was served to us this time in the Shifang Pavilion. Also this year we were pleased to have a large number of participants from different states. Our sincere thanks go especially to the couple Heinevetter and Pötzl for their great efforts and donation for the success of the festival.

German-Chinese New Year festival 2020

On January 25, we celebrated the Chinese New Year together with our members in Leipzig, in the restaurant "China's World". The year 2020 was under the sign of the rat, which actually stands for down-to-earthness, intelligence and tenacity. That very evening we were still thinking sympathetically of Wuhan and the pandemic outbreak. Who would have guessed what the year would bring us shortly after. Traditionally, the evening consisted of a cozy get-together and delicious Chinese food.

Chinese moon festival 2019

On the evening of September 27, our long tradition was continued and we welcomed our guests again for an interesting evening. Many esteemed guests were present, including members of the Association and representatives of business and finance. We were also very pleased to welcome the young people who participated in this year's summer camp in Shanghai.

The evening started with the chairman of the Bank of China, who gave an exciting speech about the Renminbi and contributed to many discussions and conversations.

There was also a cheerful exchange of ideas at a get-together with a Far Eastern buffet. To round off the evening, our member Dorothee Schrage honored us with classical singing, accompanied by Madoka Itoh on the piano.

The German-Chinese Friendship Association e.V. promotes the economic and cultural contact between Germany and China. At our Chinese Moon Festival, we were able to exchange ideas again and thus promote interest and interaction between the two countries.

German-Chinese New Year festival in Hof

8. bis 10. Februar 2019

To celebrate the new Chinese Year of the Pig, members and friends of the DCF met in the city of Hof from 8 to 10 February 2019 at the invitation of our long-standing Bavarian members, the Kolb and Zapf families. The pig symbolises happiness, wealth and contentment and is a true enjoyer of the finer things in life. This fantastic weekend kicked off with a cosy get-together in the quaint Hof "Biersalon Trompeter" on Friday evening.

On 9 February, the first item on the agenda was an interesting guided tour of Europe's largest porcelain museum, the PorzellanIkon in Selb. A big thank you goes to the director Mr. Wilhelm Siemen for the personal welcome of our guests. Afterwards, they could take advantage of the good shopping opportunities in the numerous factory outlets and visit the popular wine fair of the Rotary Club Hof in the Freiheitshalle. At the end of the eventful day, the approximately 50 guests met at the first-class "Restaurant Season", which served us a delicious German-Chinese New Year dinner. In a festively decorated atmosphere, the culinary menu was accompanied by cultural and musical contributions as well as lively conversations.

For their fantastic commitment, we thank our great Hof hosts, all other contributors in Hof and Selb, and last but not least all our guests who made this memorable New Year's celebration possible.

German-Chinese Friendship Association New Year Celebration 2017

At the end of January 2017, we celebrated the Chinese New Year. True to our tradition of celebrating Chinese New Year with our members and friends over an authentic Chinese holiday dinner, this year's New Year celebration was held at the Kyushu Hotel on 27 January. The entire highlight of the dinner was the compelling cultural programme. The singing of the famous Chinese bass singer Lu Yi enchanted the audience, the dancing of Jiajia Sweden caught the attention of all the guests and the Mongolian horse-head violin played by Mr Bat-Erdene transported them to the vast and untamed steppe.

We thank everyone who participated in the celebration and made our dinner a great success!

Moon Festival 2016

As in the past, the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration was again a great success. The Chinese restaurant "Kyushu Restaurant" presented Chinese culinary art with 18 traditional festival dishes and gave the guests a further impression of Chinese food culture. The highlight of the evening was our new member Mr. Bernhard Müller, the former mayor of the new city of Vienna, who read his original "China behind the rice". Through his personal experiences in China and his analyses and observations, he immersed the audience in Chinese culture.

In addition, our Leipzig members organised a special outdoor activity. The sky was also beautiful and clear, so the city tour and lake excursion were beautiful memories for all the guests.

The culture and beauty of Leipzig impressed the guests from Bavaria, Austria and South Tyrol.
